It’s December time!

Every Christmas I try to find a way to push myself further beyond the bounds of what I think capable.

December is a time to celebrate and enjoy life and friends and family, but a lot of clients ask me how I cope with all the extra food in the house?

The answer is simple. I don’t. I just up my activity levels to accommodate the extra calories that will inevitably be in my system.

Last year I ran 300km from 1st to 24th December.

This year we’re amping it up a bit.

1 mile on 1st
2 miles on 2nd

All the way up to 24th December for a grand total of 300 MILES.

No Santa suits this year, no charity. This one’s for me.

In January 2021, if you’d told me that I would complete two marathons, with massive inclines on tricky terrain, three weeks apart from each other, I’d have laughed, and gone to finish off my pack of fags, with my fifth pint of beer, while waiting for my second pizza delivery of the day.

I set out a challenge at the start of this summer to complete @great_run, @toughmudder, Trail Escape Bristol to Bath, @marathoneryri with the only desired result being to get through them with a smile at the finish line.

Not only did I do that, I also carried along some epic clients and friends along the way. The Tough Mudder crew, the Temples, Tash joined me on my running journey, but I have so many clients at different stages of their journey who inspire me to be better each and every day, whether it be fitting into old clothes, qualifying for IVF, massive endurance walks, deadlifting or bench pressing.

Nearly 4 years on, I don’t smoke, my diet is so much better (but not perfect!), I barely drink and I feel so much happier. It is never too late to achieve the things you thought impossible. You can make a difference to your own life, and to other people’s.

So here’s to my friends and clients that continue to do amazing things- we’re only just getting started.

Another weekend, another marathon @marathoneryri !This time it was the turn of Beth Temple, 42, mother of two, long suffering wife of one, and even longer suffering client of mine, to attempt a foolish feat, scaling the peak of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa if you’re that way inclined).For a woman that ‘doesn’t do hills’, she sure ran her heart and lungs out. Beautiful scenery, fantastic support, and just a magical place to run!Incredible achievement, butty. Enjoy the recovery and rest… which marathon are we running next?
